School is almost over— like I actually need to remind anyone of that — but have no fear: Schmaling’s SUMMER READING PROGRAM begins JUNE 1 and runs through JUNE 27. Registration for “Read to the Rhythm”, this year’s theme for the reading and multi-activity program, begins TUESDAY, MAY 26.
So march your way over to the library to register for a month full of crafts, story times, a musical petting zoo, Wii time, and prizes galore! When you register, please remember that a parent or legal guardian must be present to sign up children under 14. At that time you will receive the informational packet and calendar of events. And remember, the reading program isn’t just for kids: there are teen and adult reading incentives and activities as well.
And just a heads up: anyone who reads June’s Riverbend Book Club selection — A Wedding in Hawaii, by Julia Alvarez — AND attends the discussion on June 23 at 6pm, will receive DOUBLE the points in the program thereby accelerating them towards the attainment of the coveted $50 prize.
