Starting next week the SUMMER READING PROGRAM swings into beat; visit this page under The Children’s Room for the complete schedule. Remember, it’s never too late to register for one of our three reading incentive programs — the elementary program includes anyone preschool age through 5th grade, “tweens & teens” includes 6th through 12th grades, and everyone else receives the courtesy of being considered an adult. It’s fairly painless to sign-up (with the exception of those enrolling in the child’s program, you just slap your John Hancock on the respective sign-up sheet at the front desk); after that, just keep track of your reading time (children), or number of books you read (young adult and adult), record said information on the appropriate slip (available at the library), and turn them over to us in order to receive some awesome prizes and a chance to enter the grand prize drawing in your age bracket: each offering the not-too-shabby prize of $50!!!
For tweens/teens and adults: after reading a book, simply fill out a slip listing the title, author, and a personal rating. Each slip will enter you into that week’s drawing for a particular prize. After having completed 6 books, you will be entered into the GRAND PRIZE drawing for $50; each subsequent book gives you an additional entry. There will be separate Grand Prize drawings and rewards for the three age groups (children, young adults, and adults).
For a complete listing of the reading requirements and prizes at the children’s level: please visit this page under The Children’s Room.
